FF #.. 8 or 9??

My photographer for this thanksgiving week is David Lachapelle.   (once again, a celebrity photographer)
David LaChapelle was born in Connecticut in 1969. He studied as a fine artist at N.Carolina School of the Arts before moving to New York. He then enrolled at both the Art Students League and the School of Visual Arts. Not yet out of high school, he was offered his professional job by Andy Warhol to work for Interview Magazine.    His photography has been showcased in tons galleries and museums, including Tony Shafrazi Gallery and Deitch Projects in New York. His pictures have been on and in between the covers of magazines such as Vogue, French Vogue, Vanity Fair, GQ, and Rolling Stone.

He has photographed people from kanye west to muhammed ali to leonardo dicaprio to hilary clinton, and has a style that is unique to any one person.  He like every other photographer, tries to incorporate the ideas and opinions of his subject and of his.   I personally liked his work, partly because of the people in them, but mostly because of the striking and vibrantly beautiful pictures.

FF #7

Photographer is Micheal Muller, a photographer who is into sports, entertainment, and celebrity pictures.  He incorporates his interests, for instance in his sports captures, his pictures suggest an interest in cleveland(maybe thats just my assumption)    I didn't find any personal info on Micheal, but then again, it may have been on a site like wikipedia, which i don't use.

I didn't think his pictures had an special, jump-off-the-screen quailty.  They were great pictures, and very creative, but also very original and used.  His idea of sports photography is mainly still pictures.  When i think of sports captures i think of fast paced in the game pictures, that happen to catch a moment in an important second of time.

FF # 6

my photographer is eve arnold.  She is a professional photographer of celebrities and documentaries.  Her work resembles the 1990s. She is well known for her photographs of marilyn monroe, and even has a book of them.  I love the way eve captured her beauty, and true emotions.  In some of the pictures, marilyn looks depressed almost, and eve didn't try to hide it, she took the photo anyway, and i loved that about her photos, they were true.
The websites i tried to use to link to were "unavailable" so i linked to a blog review about Eve.

featured photographer #7

Sarahlee Welch Photography  Sarah is a 25 year old wedding  photographer out of Colorado.  She enjoys vacations with her husband and loves the mountains She believes that customer service comes first above all, and that her five years of experience doesn't define her skill.
Her work is very creative and festive, with every picture having a story of its own(which is very important to me)  She has a way of framing the person, yet including a background that creates a story.

Featured Photographer

My photographer for this week is a company called The Pearl Photography. It is a group of people who specializes in weddings, in the Southern California specifically Los Angeles.  They believe that wedding pictures should be available at a low price, and that quality should mean more than making money.  I like the way they have every photo bright and vibrant, and how  they don't change the personality of the person, by altering the picture.

they link above goes to their website, and thus the galleries.

Featured Photographer..#.. something.

My photographer is Dan Anderson. He is a photographer out of Minneapolis.  He specializes in places and things, and is open to new ideas, and different ways to take and edit pictures.  He enjoys flickr because he loves looking at and getting inspiration from all types of photographs and photographers, and to look for new locations for pictures.  I like his interesting way of cropping and drawing focus on different areas of photos.

below is a link to a picture in his photostream.

Post Processing

This is Owen. I took this picture while babysitting him.  I loved the picture but thought the cage to the camera right was distracting.

This cropped and edited version eliminates the cage and more of the couch, and shows more of Owen's character. The crop isn't major, but it definitely added to the quality of the picture.

Featured Photographer #4

My photographer is John W Bolles.  He is a professional photographer out of San fransisco.  He didn't have a very good bio but from what i gathered, he enjoys taking life and freezing it in pictures, "and thats all there is to it."  He is very straight forward, and easy to figure out.   He also enjoys other forms of art, such as music and enjoys writing.  His main focus is people, and works for Marc Jacobs.
I love that he uses an antique look in most of his photos, but uses also the beauty of the person and goes from there.
Below is a link to his Archives.

His photos are copyright, so i didn't copy and paste them.

Photowalk pictures.

For this picture i tried many different angles, and
all the while leaves were actually falling from the tree
to camera left.  There was a random picnic table a little to the
right of the tree, so it was hard to catch the shot without it.
I was about to give up on the shot when i took one
last one from this angle, and happened to catch the leaves
 falling into the shot.

For this shot i found a "perfect" pile of leaves and took the shot.  I really found beauty in the simplicity of leaves, and was amazed at the natural vibrant colors. The onle thing i did to this picture was crop out the sticks to the left.

For this last on of my favorite three, i had a really hard time finding the perfect angle to catch the best reflection on the water, and the best light. I also tried to position the leaf so it was close to the center, and yet not too boring.  I also made an attempt to find a leaf in the water that was "ideal" for a picture.

FEATURED PHOTOGRAPHER #3

Emilly Law-Flom Designs and Photography

My photographer this week is Emily Law.  Emily is a photographer out of her home town of Hibbing, MN. She specializes in Weddings Photography, Children Photography, Family Photography, Senior Photography and Pet Photography.

Emily has been passionate about photography for quite awhile.  Her philosophy is trying to capture that moment in time, that will never occur again. She is a mother of three boys who she says are her main models and influence.
I love her work because she works hard to catch the inner "spirit" of the person that she is photographing.  The pictures are absolutely stunning, and appear to be the natural person.

Below is a link to her galleries.  I am not going to insert photos as that is against copyright.

Featured Photographer #2

My featured photographer is Heather of Buffalo, MN.
Heather Kough is a photographer in central Minnesota around the Buffalo area, to include the Twin Cities and Saint Cloud. She is an event photographer, which includes weddings, families, children, and maternity.
Heather is a newlywed who someday wants to have children of her own to photograph and quote "practice" on. She is a photographer on the side, but hopes to someday do it full time.  Photography is quote her "life passion" and from looking at her blog and flickr photos seems to have a natural talent.
Her photos are compyright protected  so below is a link to her "little ones" gallery.
The link will take you to the main page. for some reason it won't link me to the galleries page. ):

I loooveee her style. She captures a childs natural beauty and simplicity. I absolutely love how she can do little to no processing, an if she does it doesn't take away from the person in the picture. She is very creative, and seems very fun loving.

Photographer of the week

My photographer is Paul Caron of Faribault, MN. http://www.pauljcaron.com/

Paul is an out-of-home photographer, who may i mention is blind in one eye.  I know him personally as he goes to church with me. Also, he did our family pictures 2 years ago.  Paul and his wife Kay have  three young kids.Paul has been a photographer since college and has had an interest for many years prior to college. Paul has won awards for some of his work done during college.
I did not include more of his pictures beacuse he does shots with people in them, and i felt i didn't need to show more people's faces. I know the couple above, and am sure they wouldn't mind.
